David McKay Consulting was established by David McKay in 2017, drawing on over 25 years’ major project experience in Australia with Sinclair Knight Merz, Evans & Peck, ConnellGriffin and InfraSol Group, and internationally with Sinclair Knight Merz and WS Atkins.
David McKay Consulting has worked with and along side many ‘giants’ within the engineering community, and is able to draw upon this experience in delivering exceptional service and value to its clients.
Our creative, innovative thinking and can-do analytical and systematic approach, coupled with the collaborative way we work with our clients, and our intimate knowledge of major infrastructure projects enables us to consistently exceed client expectations.
We pride ourselves on going ‘above and beyond’ in the service of our clients, ensuring that project teams are ‘doing the right things and doing things right’.
David McKay is a civil engineer with 30 years’ experience on major transport and infrastructure projects in Australia, Indonesia and the United Kingdom, which have included rolling stock procurement and upgrades, motorways, airports, social housing development and maintenance, water treatment plants and mining projects.
David is a specialist in the planning, development and delivery of complex projects involving large teams and multiple stakeholders. He has extensive site management and contract management experience including design management, contract administration, procurement, technical reporting, independent verification, stakeholder liaison and risk management.
David approaches each project with a strong client focus and has a proven track record of working effectively within team environments to deliver ‘best for client’ outcomes in complex and demanding projects and programs.
His commitment to community is evident in the various causes he supports.
Born and bred in Dubbo, NSW, David is a keen supporter of junior cricket. He is a Past President and Life Member of St Ives Junior Cricket Club in Sydney, and can often be found during the summer umpiring his children’s cricket matches or cooking sausages at the clubhouse BBQ.
David was the President of the Parents and Friends Association at his children’s primary school, and was responsible for organising the school fete and other school fund raising events.
An avid runner and cyclist, David has run two marathons (2013 and 2021), and completed the Zoo2Zoo bike ride from Sydney to Dubbo in 2018 in support of the Black Dog Institute. Along with 10 of his university mates, he is looking forward to competing (albeit slowly) in the Noosa Triathlon in 2022.
To provide value added solutions to our clients and achieve outcomes beyond their expectations.
